BUIP210: Re-elect Peter R for Bitcoin Unlimited Secretary
I hereby volunteer to serve another 2-year term as the Secretary for Bitcoin Unlimited (BU). As I have for the past 8 years, I will continue to work with BU’s Lead Developer and its President to ensure that the funds endowed to BU are administered responsibly, efficiently, and as per the wishes of the BU Membership. I remain focused on BU’s overarching goal: the widespread adoption of peer-to-peer electronic cash as described by Satoshi Nakamoto in the Bitcoin whitepaper. This now involves my support for, and contributions to, the experimental cryptocurrency Nexa, as authorized by BUIP166. Beyond the obvious value added to Nexa itself, BU’s open-source work here can of course be adopted by any other Satoshi-based coin and thus its potential impact across the cryptocurrency ecosystem is broader than Nexa alone. I will also continue to organize, promote and participate in conferences, including the upcoming Australian Crypto Convention this November. Additionally, I will pursue my research and development regarding the promise and potential of custom FPGA and ASIC hardware for cryptocurrency scalability. As an example, our latest research result shows a 100X improvement in the number of digital signature verifications per Joule using our FPGA infrastructure compared to using Bitcoin Core’s libsecp256k1 running on a PC.
